Who We Are

Scents and Scrunchies is an independent, woman-owned, family-run wax melt business based in Oxfordshire, creating handmade, eco-friendly wax melts for customers across Oxford, Bicester, and the surrounding areas. What began as a small hobby—making wax melts to gift to friends and colleagues—quickly grew into something more. While working alongside clinical professionals, I started creating calming “therapy scents” designed to help colleagues unwind after long, demanding days. From there, requests for small gift sets from friends, family, and co-workers followed, and Scents and Scrunchies grew organically into a local artisan business.

All of our wax melts are hand poured in small batches in Oxfordshire, with a focus on quality, affordability, and sustainability. Wax melts are often seen as a luxury, and with the cost of living continuing to rise, my aim has always been to offer affordable wax melts without compromising on ethics or scent quality. Everyone deserves a little treat at home, whether that’s enjoying a cosy movie night, reading a book, or creating a calming atmosphere after a busy day.

One of our unique selling points is our pick-and-mix wax melt experience, available when you visit our tables at Crafters Emporium in Bicester and Oxford. Customers can explore our interactive scent station and smell the wax melts before buying. If you’re unsure about committing to a scent, we offer an extra-large individual sample size (12–15g), helping reduce waste while allowing you to find fragrances you truly love. This hands-on, personalised approach has made us a popular choice for handmade gifts in Oxfordshire.

Ethics and sustainability are at the heart of Scents and Scrunchies. As a huge animal lover, I refuse to use any products that are not vegan, cruelty-free, and environmentally friendly. We use a natural blend of coconut and rapeseed wax, biodegradable dyes and glitters, and vegan-friendly fragrances. Our UK-made packaging is fully recyclable and made using a high percentage of recycled plastic. We also proudly support UK-based, small to medium, woman-owned suppliers, helping to strengthen the local economy and reduce our environmental footprint.
